Using Social Media to Boost Online Traffic

The world is using the Internet in different ways, like entertainment, communication, and fun among other things. Individuals are utilizing it uniquely such as through online marketing and finance for firms. We may also probably know the process of creating a site, acquiring traffic and readers for it, gaining page rankings and such.

What Makes Social Media Effective at Increasing Traffic?

Social media has made accessing information a breeze. More than for communication and maintaining relationships, people are using it for achieving traffic for their websites. How do social media boost online traffic?

  • The important ingredient is social marketing. We are familiar with sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others. These have made communication easier, especially for people who found traditional (slow) methods difficult.
  • Interactions between businesses have also increased. New statistics, new ideas, and new techniques are making new moves in any market.
  • Social media are said to be an inbuilt approach for all kinds of business persons. Right from a sales person to a CEO, it is accessible without spending a penny. When such a facility is available for people to promote their organisations, why would they go elsewhere?.
  • Social media is a great tool because people adapt to its development pace relatively well. They are informed about what might happen in the market.
  • Interesting and engaging topics have always been traffic drivers. Creating content tailored to a specific audience always helps!
  • A professionally-written piece generates greater chances to share it. Interact with those who have interacted with your post and connections will be made – and increased.
  • Create a separate community in social media by giving a good title tag and accurate info about the blog. Make sure that, you insert the link address and related websites.

I suggest that social media marketers and business people on social should follow these strategies.

Social Media Link Building Matters!

Usage of social media sites is all about enhancing the relationship. Promoting one’s message on social – branded or not – is a great  way to ‘get out there’, building on new connections and creating new ones.

Build with Major Social Networking Sites

Promoting skills and services where people are, namely on social, is a sure way of building bridges. Utilizing the most popular ones like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn is the easiest and probably most effective way of getting on social media.

Know What to Avoid

However, not every business needs to be on social media. Wanting to reach many people is not an excuse to post whatever you fancy. Conversely, learn to steer clear from brands and businesses trying “too hard” to engage with you.

I agree that social media is a big factor for one to get increase traffic. But I just want to point, it will be a lost cause if you will be sharing trash posts. Quality articles is a must.

If you want to promote anything, just tweet it or post it on your Facebook wall, and you're good to go.  Social media reach a much wider range of audience than any other platform.  It is the wave of the future.  Can it possibly get any better than that?

@PepperTan Hi Pepper, thanks for dropping by my blog.

"Good to go" applies easier on Twitter than on Facebook; Facebook's Edgerank update late last year more or less makes sure that your updates do NOT reach all of the people within your network (especially if you haven't been in contact with them for a while). It's also not the wave of the future, in my opinion, but the current wave we're on :)

It's interesting to me how the various social mediums seem to be good for and commonly used for different things. For example, people tend to use Facebook for more personal connections and Twitter for business. This just sort of happens automatically. It seems to work well.

@profkrg Hi Kenna, thanks for the insights.

Hmm, that's an interesting point though I won't necessarily agree; I'm the opposite. Twitter seems like a great place to socialize, for me, while Facebook is very work-centered. This COULD be due to the fact that I'm on Facebook for work, being a brand community manager. Different strokes for different folks, maybe?

@jsncruz Do you have a personal Facebook page? I guess that's what I really was talking about. But, yes, I agree that people probably do use social media differently.

@profkrg Yes, I have a page - it's on the right-hand side sidebar :) I agree with usage; we row our boats the way we want to.

Just being able to see what is available quickly, rather than having to do all the searching. Can't tell you how many things I've learned since I've been involved in social media.
